People are so good!!

I belong to a yahoogroup with other parents that have all adopted from the same orphanage that Jiji is in. Some of the kids have been home for 5 yrs now and other parents like me are just leaving to pick up our kids.

Kids from our yahoo group live all over the world, but all of our kids share the fact that they were cared for at the same orphanage. There is an instant bond with families who's children have grown up with mine, or who's children were cared for by the same workers. In a way they all feel like extended family.

De (our guide in Xiushan) called the orphanage for us to let them know we would like to bring some donations. The orphanage told De that they were in need of toys so I sent an email out to our yahoogroup letting them know that we would be making the trip to Xiushan and that if anyone wanted to they could donate to our toy fund. Things are going great and many families have been very generous! We will purchase the items in Chongqing (the closest main city) and Xiushan.

I'm also collecting scrapbook pages with the kids referral photo and recent photos as well. This has been so fun to put together. We plan on giving it to the orphanage the day we visit. We will not be allowed to visit in the orphanage, but the director will meet us at the gate for the donations.

I offered to take photos of their children's "finding places." This will make for a busy trip for us but so worth it to allow more kids to grow up with this very important photo. I pray that we will be able to find most of the places.

China in our Hearts

We feel so blessed that through this adoption process we have truly seen God work many miracles in order to bring our family together. When people ask us; “Why international adoption?” The answer is easy, “Because our daughter is in China.” -Andrea
