As promised, here is a report on our fun times in Shanghai. The Meyer Bed & Breakfast was wonderful, and we owe Emily, Joab, Miriam, and Asa a special thanks. They threw open their doors and let us invade them for 5 days! It all started with this awesome "Welcome sign" the kids had made for us.
They showed us some of the fine dining around town and we had all kinds of international meals. Even some pretty good Shanghai Mexican food and some great home cooked meals by Emily. And a bowl of popcorn to accompany "Shanghai Rush"? Man, we had it good!
On one of the days we toured the Yuyuan Gardens and had Joab, the Chinese Studies major, explain all kinds of things to us. It was crazy hot, so the tour lasted until we had to find an air conditioned dining establishment. 
Yes, Connor's toes are hanging over the edge with ferocious Koi fish right below.
Lizzie is also known as "The Little Heater" and having her strapped to me in a black carrier in the Shanghai summer heat was akin to wrapping myself in a black trash bag and walking around Charlotte.
On Monday, we went downtown and saw the sights. This is a picture of Joab and me in front of his building at HSBC. He broke away from his work to meet us for some Thai food that was very good! Joab is doing what we went to school for.....working and living abroad. I keep reminding Andrea of the cultural experience our family is having in Charlotte, NC.
Connor and I also took a trip on the MagLev train that whisked us from downtown out to the airport in 8 minutes. It is one of the fastest trains in the world and I snapped a picture of Connor under the KPH display when we hit 430 Kilometers Per Hour. (That's 266.7 MPH if my conversion in my head is accurate.) :)

Joab introduced me to a better way to carry a child in the heat with his backpack. That is the Bund in the background.

On Sunday in Shanghai we had the opportunity to take Lizzie to Church for the first time. I snapped this picture of Connor showing Lizzie a painting of Jesus before the meeting started. It was a tender moment for this proud father.We had a great visit to Shanghai and Andrea and I loved seeing the sights, being with friends, and negotiating with the local sales forces for souveniors. Thanks Meyers for the great visit!

very cute pics! Thanks for coming! We miss you so much! On Shanghai Rush this week the dear ones from Utah got the boot- we were all so sad. Turns out they were married! I thought they were just dating! Anyway, after the show they said what all the couples are doing. The Utah ones moved back to Utah- he is teaching Chinese she is getting ready to start a family :). Helmet and Muzi are STILL dating and Helmet says he is waiting for the day when Muzi will marry him! He needs serious help!
